Hearing aid description body
The Lex 8 is an advanced hearing aid manufactured by GN ReSound incorporating their Range processing chip. It is an anatomically crafted, non-custom in-the-ear remote microphone hearing aid that is virtually invisible. The unique external remote microphone tucks into the cymba concha (top fold of the external ear) whilst the hearing aid shell fits deep within the ear canal. The position of the remote microphone in the cymba concha helps to preserve the function and acoustics provided by the external ear (pinna). This promotes natural wind noise reduction, natural directionality and enhancement of important speech cues when listening in background noise. It has 17 WARP channels which mimic and replicate the number of frequency bands in the human organ of hearing (cochlea), strong noise reduction using their latest algorithm (Noise Tracker II), and strong expansion. In addition, the Lex 8 can analyse and classify 7 listening environment before automatically adjusting the sound level and amount of noise reduction applied based on that environment to promote better hearing and listening comfort (Environmental Optimiser II). The sound level and amount of noise reduction applied automatically per environment can be adjusted and personalised. This is assisted by Datalogging which keeps track of any manual volume changes made by the wearer in each environment. The Lex 8 also incorporates one of the industry’s leading feedback algorithms (DFS Ultra) that helps to reduce annoying whistling from your hearing aids. The Lex 8 is non-wireless and therefore not compatible with GN ReSound’s unique 2.4 GHz wireless accessories.
