So I recently attended a festival and I have to say as an Audiologist that I was pleasantly suprised to see many other festival goers wearing ear plugs. The festival itself was giving out disposable ear plugs and some attendees were even wearing custom made hearing protection devices. 

Here are our top reasons to why you should pack a pair of ear plugs into your festival bag: 

• Protecting your ears using ear plugs will help to prevent hearing loss and/or tinnitus by providing a barrier between loud sounds and your ear. 
• Wearing ear protection at an festival ensures that you can continue to enjoy future festivals for years to come. 
• When camping, space for camping can get limited and you can find tents near on top of eachother. Ear plugs can help you get a quiet night sleep so that you can enjoy your favourite bands and artists play the next day. 
• Listening for long periods of time can be tiring, ear plugs provide a rest for your ears.

Whether you choose custom made, reusable or disposable ear protection make sure you do not head to your festival without at least one pair of ear protection and if you can bring an additional pair for the one friend you know likes to travel light.
