Hearing Aids that Geotag Environments

We now live in quite the digital world,

A geotag works by describing a particular place and time using data given by latitude and longitude information . This is something that can be used on cameras and smart phones when taking a photo the picture will be geotagged with where the photo was taken and at what date and time.

Now our hearing aids being able to connect to smart phones has also brought with it with some hearing aids the ability to geotag locations that once in specific locations your hearing aid will adjust itself according to what you have requested it to do. Say for example you regularly meet up with a friend for lunch in a cafe that is particularly noisy, your hearing aid could adjust the directionality of the sound to reduce background noise from the moment you enter the building and not just once the noise begins.

Ordinarily hearing aid's have programmes that will adjust to different settings under three main categories, quiet listening, in background noise or with a connection to a loop system. Extra programmes can be added for specifically in a music scenario, using a telephone, in the car or a windy outdoor environment. What this does lack however is specifics, not all environments can be categorised under one heading such as a "in background noise" therefore having locations geotagged such as a cafe, a friends house, a busy shop you visit regularly will allow your hearing aid to adapt specficially to that location and not a generalation for all shops.

Some hearing aids and hearing aid apps will allow you to adjust the settings in different environment

benefits of this?

Geotag your favourite places, your favourite places will be unique to you and in turn your hearing aid using a geotag environment means your hearing aid works even more in tune with your life and your needs.

One of the main benefits of this is that you don't need to touch your hearing aid for it to change isetting automatically

What it might think you want to happen in this environment such as a reduction in backgroun noise might not be what you want
