There are over 100 tinnitus support groups all around the UK. Each group is run by a wonderful volunteer or group of volunteers. The groups are supported by the British Tinnitus Association. A tinnitus support group is an informal environment for you to chat with people who understand what you are going through. You can also bring a family member or friend along if you like.

Tinnitus is an individual experience and people experience it differently. Tinnitus support groups allow for discussion. This mean you will learn ways of managing tinnitus from what has worked for other people with tinnitus. As well as this, you will be able to share to other people what has worked for you. Therefore helping other people too.

You will pick up coping strategies and relaxation techniques as well as realising that you are not alone in what you are going through. Being able to talk about tinnitus and learn from others will help reduce stress and anxiety that has developed through having tinnitus.

Attending a tinnitus support group means you are taking control. You are becoming empowered and more confident in your own tinnitus management and may even gain a fabulous new set of friends along the way.
