Teacher of the Deaf (Derby)

The Governors at Reigate Park Primary School are seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf to join our large provision for deaf and hearing-impaired children.  Applications from Teachers of the Deaf with relevant knowledge and experience of the primary phase are particularly welcomed.  The successful candidate will join a hardworking and enthusiastic team of both deaf and hearing staff who support up to 26 deaf children in our Enhanced Resource Facility, which offers an inclusive approach and a Total Communication philosophy. Reigate Park is highly committed to improving the life chances of our children and to the raising of standards throughout the school.  We place a firm emphasis upon the knowledge and skills needed for later life, working in partnership with parents to achieve this. 

Experience required: 
The successful candidate will therefore have Qualified Teacher Status and be able to demonstrate: * a commitment to working with hearing impaired children within a mainstream setting; * dedication and enthusiasm with high expectations of learning and behaviour; * a commitment to an inclusive ethos; * an ability to work as an effective member of a team; * the capability to deliver consistently good or better lessons; * a willingness to work across the primary phase; * a strong desire to continue to develop within this profession; * signing skills to at least BSL Level 2, and a willingness to continue training
