Senior Campaigns Officer (London)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Policy and Campaigns team at Action on Hearing Loss. 

The Senior Campaigns Officer will sit within our Policy & Campaigns directorate, which is responsible for influencing the government, parliamentarians, policy makers, service providers, individuals and a wide range of other stakeholders. We work to ensure that people with hearing loss do not face barriers in society and that the best possible support is available for them to help manage their condition.

You will lead the implementation of our campaign activities and be responsible for developing campaign plans to meet our strategic objectives, whilst growing our campaigns network to ensure we can secure social change.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

To plan and implement integrated campaigns to support the delivery of the overall Action on Hearing Loss strategy.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead and evaluate national campaigns in support of Action on Hearing Loss’ strategic aims and objectives, providing proactive strategic campaigning advice to the charity.
  • Support Action on Hearing Loss as it engages the wider public in deafness and hearing loss issues and produce compelling public facing content that encourages engagement in our campaigns.
  • To work closely with colleagues in the Policy and Campaigns Directorate to ensure that our campaigns work is evidence based and puts the voice of people with hearing loss at the heart of our influencing agenda.
  • To deliver a new initiative for Action on Hearing Loss, the Social Change Advisory Group, which will involve people living with deafness and hearing loss in the planning of our campaigning work.
  • To work with the Head of Campaigns and Public Affairs to develop, implement, monitor and report against relevant measures of effectiveness of our campaigns activity.
  • Manage cross-department project teams to deliver campaigns so that all relevant parts of the organisation are aligned and working together to secure the changes that we are seeking for people living with deafness, hearing loss and tinnitus.
  • Utilise a variety of campaign tools and tactics and stay abreast of developments in the campaigning field.
  • Effectively represent Action on Hearing Loss in key meetings with campaigns partners, targets and stakeholders so that Action on Hearing Loss is recognised as a credible, strategic and high-impact campaigning organisation.
