On average it takes ten years for people to address their hearing loss
We are currently looking for a Band 5 Audiologist to join our hard working Audiology team at York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The opportunity has arisen within our well-equipped department that currently provides a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service to the Adult and Paediatric population of York and Scarborough as well outlying areas.
These clinical services include providing a full range of digital hearing aids. You will be expected to attend clinics at York, Selby and Scarborough, so the ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy.
Please note that the Audiology Department is part of an Audiology Department that covers North Yorkshire including York, Scarborough and Harrogate.
You will have completed the BSc in Audiology or equivalent. Duties will include provision of a range of audiometric investigations and a comprehensive hearing aid service to adults and also the opportunity to support Senior Audiologists in the testing of children within the Audiology Department.
It's not just the area that's a great draw, as well: as a member of our team, you’ll have access to one of the most generous and comprehensive pension schemes in the UK, a minimum of 27 days annual leave (on top of Bank Holidays) and an award-winning package of staff benefits (see link on the right).
