We are recruiting for a Community Engagement Manager to provide high-quality support to our service users who are Deaf,Hearing Impaired ,Deafblind or have dual Sensory Loss in our Information Advice and Guidance Service in Birmingham.
We are looking for a creative individual to support the Deaf Elders Group 1 day a week to develop,deliver and evaluate a new Intergenerational arts and crafts project. This will involve a monthly session with deaf/hard of hearing children and young people to build awareness of both generations including communication, culture and share new skills. The aim of this exciting new project is to improve mental wellbeing and reduce isolation.
We are recruiting for an Enablement Officer to join our Enablement Service working in Birmingham with adults who have a sensory loss. You will have knowledge and experience of disabilities associated with sensory loss e.g. deaf, hearing impairment, sight impairment, deafblind or acquired dual sensory loss.
To provide a high quality, community based service to people who have a sensory loss e.g., adults and young people aged 16+ who are deaf, hearing impaired, sight impaired, severely sight impaired, deafblind or have acquired dual sensory loss.
Working as part of a team of interpreters, the successful applicant will need to be able to work on their own initiative as well as being a good team member.
Applicants should ideally have attained TSLI status, although those possessing or currently undertaking a recognised academic qualification in interpreting will be considered. Further training will be offered to successful applicants to develop their skills.
