Alera 9 is speficially designed for those regularly in challenging listening environment, large social functions, outdoors, travel environments in built with a number of features such as Directional MixT, Personalized noise reduction and Environmental Optimizer. Compared to the Alera 61 this aid does not have a push button for different programs, all settings are automatically set. Additionally there is no wireless feature. As the aid is small and fiddly requiring good dexterity it only receives one thumbs up. A great little hearing aid for an active lifestyle.
