The Audeo Q 70 was launched in 2013 and is the second (advanced) level of RIC (Receiver In Canal) hearing aids available from Phonak. It has now replaced the previous Audeo S5. The ‘Q’ means Phonaks new sound processing chip technology known as Quest. This offers you faster sound processing and even better sound quality with new Binaural VoiceStream features The Audeo Q70 is available in three styles and offers a choice of colours ranging from traditional to bold. Audeo Q-312 – A cosmetic looking hearing aid that offers wireless capability and the new Tinnitus Balance Sound Generator Audeo Q-312T – This has an attractive, slightly larger design and wireless capability. It also features the Tinnitus Balance Sound Generator and Telecoil. Audeo Q-10 – This is the small non-wireless model that incorporates the Tinnitus Balance Sound Generator New Features The Audeo Q 70 has similar features to the previous Audeo S 5 and also has some new Binaural VoiceStream ones. This means your hearing aids will actually communicate with each other and work together to improve your hearing. Tinnitus Balance Sound Generator – Using a range of sounds, this feature helps relieve the symptoms of tinnitus. It also has the new Tinnitus Balance App which is compatible with Apple and Android devices to give access to a wide range of sounds. Acclimatisation Manager – This alters your hearing aid’s amplification levels automatically but also allows for manual adjustment. Other features include 16 Channels – Hearing aid channels process a range of frequencies so the more you have, the more specifically it can be programmed for your individual loss. Ultrazoom/Stereozoom- Binaural microphone applications which help with speech capturing and noise cancellation. Whistleblock – This helps to eliminate any irritating feedback sounds that may occur. Soundrecover – This feature improves your ability to hear higher frequency sounds. Noiseblock – This helps to suppress any unwanted background noise. Soundrelax – This helps to cushion any sudden or unexpected loud noises, ensuring listening comfort. Windblock – This helps you to continue to hear clearly, even in windy situations. Soundflow– Detects any subtle changes in your listening environment and uses a range of programmes to adapt automatically. The Audeo Q 70 features wireless models which can be connected to Phonak’s range of accessories. Accessories include Phonak Compilot – Streamer worn around the neck Phonak TV Link S – Tv transmitter/compilot charger Phonak Mypilot – One touch display screen remote control Phonak PilotOne – Basic remote control Due to the small size of the aid and fitting the aid requires fairly good dexterity therefore receiving 2 thumbs up.
